Healthy Banana Milkshakes

A banana milkshake with a healthy twist – but you wouldn’t know it! Beekeeper Brian came up with this recipe one day and it’s been a family favourite ever since. Instead of ice cream, this recipe calls for milk, honey and ice. For those who can’t have dairy, coconut milk is a fantastic option in this summer shake.

This recipe is a healthy upgrade on traditional milkshakes and simple to make. They are the perfect treat for a hot summer day!

Ingredients

4 bananas
1/4-1/3 cup honey
1 1/2 cups milk of your choice (our favourites are 2% and coconut milk)
3 cups ice

Instructions

  1. 1. Pour the ice into the bottom of the blender.
  2. Add the bananas, milk and honey to the blender and blend until smooth.
  3. For a thicker shake, add more ice, and for a thinner shake add more milk. You may need to add more or less honey depending on how sweet your bananas are.
  4. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
