If you love chocolate, this cake is for you! It is dark, rich, fudgy, and packs a good chocolate punch. Not to mention, it is sweetened with honey – a healthy, natural sweetener. As an added bonus, it is made in one bowl, making clean up a breeze!
Ingredients
1/2 cup | butter |
6 oz or 3/4 cup | semi sweet or dark chocolate |
1/2 cup | honey |
1 tsp | vanilla |
4 | eggs |
1/3 cup | cocoa powder |
1 tsp | baking powder |
pinch | salt |
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cake pan with butter or cooking spray. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper (cut to the proper size)
- 2. Add butter and chocolate to a pot on the stovetop and heat on low until butter and chocolate are melted. Let it sit until slightly cooled.
- 3. Add honey and vanilla and whisk until mixed.
- 4. Add eggs and whisk again.
- 5. Add the cocoa powder baking powder and salt and mix until well combined.
- 6. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 20 min, being careful not to over bake.
- 7. Let the cake cool slightly in the pan. After 10 min, flip cake over onto a serving plate. Allow the cake to cool completely before topping with Chocolate Honey Buttercream Icing and a mix of berries. Drizzle with honey, just before serving.
